We had a picnic for work today and I saw some little people playing in the park. I felt that my grandchildren should be able to enjoy the park. Maybe there is one in Heaven for them. I eat something good and I feel as if I should not have this if my child cannot try a taste. Everything is going on and I am lost in time and cannot seem to move forward. Nothing is enjoyable for very long and I do not look forward to anything. I have my oldest child and I try not to be so down but it is hard. This website and the other programs that reach out to us are a great help. I am thinking of all who are on this site as I am because I know how you are feeling and though it is different it is still the same. God bless all who read this. Dolores

Its a year today Kimmy that you came to see me for the last time. You were with your friend and I got such a lovely surprise when I opened the door and there you were. You looked so happy and lovely. Your hair was up and you had on a white jumper and jeans. I gave you the presents I had bought you back from my holiday. You really liked the silver bracelet from Greece. When you were leaving I cuddled you and told you I loved you., you said "I love you too Granma". I told you to visit again soon and you said so confidently "I will be back " We didnt know it would be less then a week and you would be gone. It still hurts so very much, I miss you so much, I think about you every single day. I love you so much my dear little girl. Why did it have to be you, oh why? I love you always and forever Kimmy. You are my darling girl. Rest peacefully my angel Granma xxx

Forgotten Tears is a unique and honest portrayal of a grandmother's grief following the stillbirth of her granddaughter. A distinctive feature of this book is the validation of grandparents as mourners in their own right.

The idea for this day came from a woman who realized-too late-when her brother died, that she had never let him adequately know how much he meant to her. Two years later, she proposed establishing a simple, non-commercial day on which brothers and sisters could make it a point to connect, or reconnect, acknowledging all they share. "Because life is too short," the woman said. "I don't want other people to miss what I missed." |
